The scientists from the Stanford University deem that about 60% of known professions will disappear in nearly 12-15 years. The blockchain and cryptocurrency expert Mark Ginzburg told that to the International Relations Institute students from the Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University on October, 25.
Mark Ginzburg started his lecture with his own life story. He told that during his law practice in New York he met one of the biggest developer in Miami, Florida. This acquaintance changed his life. As a result, he decided to become a developer. «Probably, it is in my genetics, because my grandfather Lev Borisovych Ginzburg was the biggest developer in Kyiv at the beginning of the XX century. He built many buildings that decorate the city even today» – told Ginzburg proudly.
Popular Ukrainian-American businessman and investor Mark Ginzburg does not look like stereotypical billionaire which image we learn from the mass media. There is no haughtiness. Just the usual jeans and the t-shirt. You will not notice him if you meet him on the street. But, realizing the way of thinking such people, you understand that Ginzburg is precisely the one who has the property to completely immerse in the processes to which he joins.
The financial and economic crisis in 2008 forced him to think seriously about the future.
“At that time I felt that this was not just a financial, banking or mortgage crisis. I had a firm impression that this is a system-wide crisis, and its result will be the transition of humanity to a very new stage of development,” – Ginzburg shares with his own then feelings. – “But at that time I had no understanding of what happened and how. So I looked for a sign or event that could qualify as a signal of the new era birth. And it happened in 2011. I was flying to New York and in The New York Times I saw an article about Blockchain. Puzzles came up in my head, and I realized that this was exactly what I was looking for,” – he continues.
Under the influence of this article, Ginzburg began to study all available literature devoted to Blockchain and cryptocurrencies and to participate in various webinars on this topic. And I also began to buy cryptocurrencies, including bitcoins.
In Summer 2017, Ginzburg took part on the third Blockchain summit meeting among the group of 44 people. The meeting took place on the Neker private island in the Caribbean Sea. It was organized by the island owner and the Virgin Group Founder Sir Richard Branson. The Bitfury Group company was the event promoter. «It wasn’t easy to take part in that event. 40 world lead businessmen were invited. Some of them were connected to the Blockchain technology, some of them were just interested. I read the articles that some of those people wrote when I just discovered the topic. For example, there was Fang Yu Kiat, the chief executive officer of the lead Asian corporation Credit China FinTech, Michael Casey, the author of «The Era of the Cryptocurrencies», and other significant people», – remembered Ginzburg.
The governments are actively implementing the Blockchain technologies in a government institution, and first of all in a national cadastral registries and national asset registries. Ginzburg considers, that thanks to it «our corrupted bureaucrats will lose control on the main data center and the servers».
Also, he told that last year for the first time in the history he managed to sell the real estate item with the help of the full Blockchain technology cycle, using the smart-contract. Due to this event, all encyclopedias of the world now indicate that the first sale of apartments for cryptocurrency (Ethereum) was held in Ukraine, in Kyiv, and that this fact is very pleasing to him. By the way, this one-bedroom apartment 60 sq.m. was bought by Michael Arrington, the founder of popular online media TechCrunch.
«Speaking about cryptocurrencies, they will replace the usual fiat currency sooner or later. It’s just a matter of time», – thinks Ginzburg.
Also, Ginzburg told the story about the creation of the first gynoid Sophia and her brothers and sisters.
«My friend David Chen, the Financial Director of Hanson Robotics, promised me to show their secret laboratory. At first, I did not believe him, as he told it after two liters of fine whiskey. But I came to Hong Kong and we met. He told me that he was going to keep his word. The same day by passing through four access areas, I found myself in the secret laboratory, where Sophia was born as well as her five brothers and sisters», – told Ginzburg.
Also, he announced that soon Sophia would visit Ukraine.
«Her first visit was mostly commercial. The Olerom Forum One organizers rented her especially for this reason», – he explained.
At the end of the lecture Mark Ginzburg stated that in nearly 10-15 years the most of known professions will disappear. Today the new technological revolution takes place.
«The paradigm changed. Your parents` experience will be useless in the new world. Another world, another laws, another paradigms, another conceptions, another tendencies», – Ginzburg summarized.
He also added:
«You should make yourself more effective and expand your horizons. The niche specialization becomes the relic of history. Open mind is a soil, where a seed will fall and start to grow».
